It was decided at the December meeting to make further additions tb thb execu: tive :. department of the organization by the election of five vice presidents, and an executive committee, to be composed of one commissioner from each congressional district in the State. Postponement of the selection of these additional , officials until the next meeting, was deemed advisable, as there were fewer representatives from the west present than from the east, and it was believed that the fairer policy would be to wait until a full gathering could be secured. ' An interesting' and valuable address on "Road Building" was delivered be; fore, the convention '' by- Dr. D. L. One other topic "of great Interest dis cussed, was whether or not county offi cials should be reimbursed' for their work2 iy fixed ; salaries, or ( through the medium of fees; and commissions. At the next meeting to be held in Decem ber, one' of the most Important topics to be discussed ' is that of the tax of 43 cents upon ' "the ; hundred ' ; dollar valuation no w; exacted . from the coun ties" by the State.
